State of New Mexico
New Mexico is a state in the Southwestern region of the United States of America. Was colonized by the Spanish in 1598 as part of the New Spain. At the conclusion of the Mexican–American War in 1848, the United States annexed New Mexico as the U.S. New Mexico Territory. Date of admission to the Union on January 6, 1912 (47th).
